What are Community Riffs?
Community Riffs are an exchange of questions & responses between BR progressives* for the purpose of sharing with each other how we think, live, and feel, what we know, and how we engage with our community.
Each week, BRPN will present a question to our members/supporters via our weekly Community Events E-blast, Twitter feed, and Facebook page. People can respond by commenting on a post, replying to a tweet, or emailing calendar@brprogress.net with “Riff” in the subject line. Answers can be a word, sentence, list, paragraph, poem, quote - whatever you’re inspired to write or cite.
While some of the responses will be visible on respective social networking sites, all constructive responses will be compiled in a BRPN blog post each week and shared through these same channels for all of us to peruse and learn from. As a default, we’ll designate your response with your first name and last initial. You may also request anonymity or designation with a preferred “user name.”
We aren’t sure what this will lead to, but we can probably make it interesting. A simple one, for starters: What do you LIKE or LOVE about Baton Rouge?
How to participate:
- Look for the Community Riff each Monday in the “Community Events” email or in your Facebook/Twitter feeds.
- Share/send your response on FB, Twitter, or to calendar@brprogress.net.
- If so moved, submit a question to calendar@brprogress.net.
*BR Progressives include area natives, expatriates, newcomers, transplants, and visitors - basically anyone interested in, invested in, and/or partial to what BR has going on.
